TAXILA: More than 90 kilometer-long roads across the Attock district would be reconstructed and upgraded with an allocation of Rs4.45 billion.

This was stated by deputy commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza flanked while talking to newsmen on Tuesday. He was of the view that ongoing road construction projects across the district are expected to improve transportation facilities for public.

He added that these projects are being executed with a strong focus on quality and are scheduled to be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Mr Raza said that the construction of the 44-km-long Fatehjang to Pindigheb road is in progress at a cost of Rs3.7 billion, of which 12kilometers have already been completed.

He said that the 41-kilometre-long Attock to Fatehjang road is under construction at a cost of Rs500 million and is expected to be completed by June 2026.

Additionally, the 7-kilometre-long Jhang-Bahtar road is being built at the cost of Rs250 million and will be ready by the end of this year.

Responding to a question, Mr Raza said that the completion of these roads will provide improved and safer travel options to a large population in Attock and the surrounding areas.

This will not only enhance mobility but also contribute to local development.

In response to another question, he added that the Jand to Tarap road project has been technically classified as “unfunded” and remains delayed.
