MARDAN: The city mayor, Himayatullah Mayar, on Monday presented a surplus budget of Rs1.83 billion for the tehsil municipal administration for the fiscal year 2025-26. In the budget, Rs501.865 million have been allocated for development expenditures.

The estimated receipts from the provincial government during the fiscal year were Rs832.775 million, while the council’s own revenue was estimated at Rs283.585 million.

While addressing on the occasion, Mayor Himayatullah stated that the meeting would also approve a 10 per cent ad hoc relief, 15pc DRA (disparity reduction allowance) for TMA employees, and a 7pc increase in pension.

“The total income of the council for the fiscal year is expected to be Rs1.83 billion, while the total expenditure is estimated at Rs1.828 billion, resulting in a projected surplus of Rs4.1 million,” he claimed.

He said the tehsil council had always played its role in the development of Mardan. A meeting would be reconvened on July 30 for discussion and approval of the budget, he added.
