ISLAMABAD: Pakistan in an impressive show secured seven medals in the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships which concluded in Gimcheon, South Korea on Saturday.

Pakistan won two gold medals, two silver and one bronze in the main event besides seizing two golds in the plate event of the continental championship.

According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), Mohammad Sohail Adnan beat Ayaan Dhanuka of India 3-1 (11-5, 11-2, 11-13, 11-6) in the boys U-13 final while Nauman Khan outplayed compatriot Ahmad Rayyan Khalil 3-0 (12-10, 11-6, 11-2) in the boys U-15 decider.

Meanwhile, Mahnoor Ali won silver medal after losing to China’s second seed Yan Ziwan 3-2 (9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10) in the girls U-13 final.

Abdullah Nawaz (boys U-19) won boys U-19 bronze.

In the plate event, Yahya Khan (U-17) and M. Mustafa (U-13) won gold medals. Yahya beat Chanyoung K of South Korea 2-0 (11-9, 11-7) while M. Mustafa blanked Tse K C of Hong Kong 2-0 (11-3, 11-8).
