TOBA TEK SINGH: Civil Lines police on Tuesday booked 11 suspects, including a woman, for attempting to kidnap a female sub-inspector of the FIA anti-money laundering wing from the premises of Faisalabad banking court.

SI Faryal Khan alleged in her first information report that as she came out of the court to her car after appearing in a case regarding producing the record of a case against the suspects under investigation, Rizwan Bari of Islamabad, his wife Rizwana Bari and brother-in-law Riasat Ali of Faisalabad, along with their eight unidentified accomplices, attacked her. They tortured her and tried to abduct her but she was rescued by a court official and a policeman posted in the court.

She took shelter in the courtroom before the judge and saved her life.

Ms Khan said the suspects took away her purse from her car which had Rs50,000, a gold ring, an ATM card and other valuables.

ARRESTED: The Faisalabad FIA arrested a human trafficker who was declared a proclaimed offender in the Morocco boat incident.

An FIA official said Ghulam Mustafa was involved in trafficking the people to Europe by sea from Morocco.

Mustafa’s two accomplices, Abdul Ghaffar and Muhammad Sarfraz, were already under arrest while he was in contact with a notorious African human smuggler, Abubakar.

The official said the gang had sent a number of persons from Mauritania to Spain but several Pakistanis sent by them died in the boat capsize incident.

ACE: The Faisalabad Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested a former naib tehsildar of Pirmahal for corruption.

A press release said the suspect, Amir Ali Khan, had prepared fake documents with the connivance of other staffers of revenue department for allotment of 39 kanal land to a man in 2022 by accepting a bribe.

A case was registered against him in 2022 and he was found guilty in an inquiry.

FDA: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has announced expansion of its real-time issuance of property ownership clearance certificates to all 17 residential colonies under its control with immediate effect.

This move marks a significant achievement in promoting reforms and establishing the FDA as a leader among development authorities across Punjab.

Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, the director general of FDA, revealed the development during a briefing from the relevant department regarding the real-time issuance of these certificates. Additional Director General FDA Qaiser Abbas Rind was also present. Director IT Yasir Ejaz Chatha briefed the meeting.

The DG said they were committed to providing relief to applicants for various services in the shortest possible time. He explained that in addition to digitising records and implementing other comprehensive measures, a phase-wise system for the real-time, on-the-spot issuance of property ownership clearance certificates had been initiated.
