GUJRAT: Two minor daughters of an international Kabaddi player died of food poisoning after eating a pizza whereas the condition of three others deteriorated in Aimenabad, Gujanwala.
Reports said Naveed Pehalwan, a Kabaddi player and also a cop in Gujranwala police, had brought some snacks from a local eatery to celebrate the birthday of his daughter on Sunday night. After eating the food, his condition and of his four daughters deteriorated and they all were shifted to the Gujranwala district headquarter hospital.
Two of the affected girls Noor Fatima (7) and Jannat (4) later died whereas their father and two sisters were being given treatment by the doctors at the hospital.
The hospital sources said the doctors had confirmed the food poisoning as the cause behind deaths.
The family has declined to pursue any legal action against the management of the fast food restaurant.
A spokesman for PFA said a team had taken the samples of the food items from the restaurant and sent them to the laboratory for chemical examination.
