PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed on Tuesday lauded the role of Police Training College (PTC) Hangu in professional policing, stating that it had been imparting specialised training to personnel of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) from across the country.

During his visit to PTC, the IGP commended long-standing contribution of the college since the inception of Pakistan, stating that its services would be remembered in golden words.

He announced that efforts were under way to upgrade PTC Hangu into a full-fledged police academy, recognising its expanding role in law enforcement training.

During his visit, the IGP awarded certificates to participants of 18th Advance Course. He inspected various departments of the college and awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes to faculty members for their exemplary performance.

He also attended the final match of the tug-of-war competition held during the college’s sports week and presented trophies and prizes to the winning team.

The commandant of PTC Hangu, Dr Fasihuddin Ashraf, briefed the IG on the ongoing training programmes, developmental activities and challenges faced by the institution.

The IG lauded Dr Fasihuddin’s contribution to police education and training and praised his dedication as an internationally recognised scholar and researcher, who devoted his life to the betterment of police training in Pakistan.

The visit marks a significant step towards institutional strengthening and modernisation of police training infrastructure in the province.
