DADU: Lawyers have demanded of the Sindh government to take immediate action to restore the law and order in Sehwan and its surrounding areas.

In response to the recent increasing lawlessness in Sehwan, the Taluka Bar Association Sehwan convened an emergency meeting on Tuesday under the leadership of its president Zahid Hussain Burro and general secretary advocate Abdul Rehman Mallah.

A large number of lawyers participated in the meeting. During the session, grave concern and sorrow were expressed over the growing incidents of crime in Sehwan city, including murders, target killings, thefts and robberies.

A resolution was unanimously passed condemning the deteriorating law and order situation in the city. It was decided to meet senior police officials to help restore peace in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, lawyer leaders remarked that a sacred and peaceful city like Sehwan was at the mercy of terrorists, armed criminals and organised gangs. Incidents were taking place daily while police appeared to be completely ineffective, they added.

The association called upon the Sindh government, Hyderabad DIG and Jamshoro SSP to take immediate action to restore the law and order in Sehwan and surrounding areas. They demanded the arrest and prosecution of the culprits and an increase in police patrolling around the city.
