KARACHI, May 11: The Karachi Gymkhana (KG) on Thursday said that the proposed car park project will be built under the basement of the existing tennis courts and not on the tennis courts.

An official of the KG was reacting to a news item published in Dawn issue of Thursday titled “KG plans to convert tennis courts into car park.”

“The General Body of Karachi Gymkhana Club had approved the Car Parking Project and also nominated a high level Car Parking Committee to look after the Car Parking Project.

“After hiring a professional consultant and seeking advice from the professionals of the city, it was decided to build a Car Parking Project as a Basement Car Park under the tennis courts.

“The tennis courts will be restored at the same location with all the modern facilities having latest synthetic surface which isw long outstanding demand of the members,” stated KG press release.
