PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project (KP-RIISP) organised a consultative workshop for representatives of partner line departments and district administrations from merged areas.

According to a statement issued here on Friday, the workshop brought together key stakeholders and implementing partners to discuss the project’s progress, implementation challenges, role of administration and plans to strengthen coordination.

The workshop aimed to foster collaboration and coordination among KP-RIISP, partner departments, and district administrations from all the merged districts, ensuring that the project’s objectives are aligned with the needs and priorities of the local communities.

In his concluding remarks, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Revenue senior member Javed Marwat emphasised the significance of the project in promoting rural development, fostering local governance and improving service delivery for the people in the merged areas.

The participants included deputy commissioners and additional deputy commissioners from all the merged districts, project directors of all the project implementing units as well as the core team of the project coordination and management unit. The workshop featured presentations by each project director on their respective components, highlighting the project’s progress in respective areas.

The sessions focused on the importance of security management plan (SMP), environment and social guidelines, and project criteria for land acquisition.

These discussions emphasised the project’s commitment to ensuring that all activities are implemented in a manner that is environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and secure.

Another key highlight of the workshop was the interactive session with the deputy commissioners and additional deputy commissioners, where participants discussed challenges, opportunities, and strategies for effective project implementation.
