LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said the Sindh government’s team of spokespersons seems to have completely lost their composure due to stress and depression.

“I honestly can’t understand what problem these people of Sindh have with Punjab. At one moment, they complain that the chief minister of Punjab isn’t visible, and the next, they say she has to personally step in for city cleanliness,” she said in a statement here in Monday.

“The appreciation Maryam Nawaz is receiving from the public is clearly burning you up with jealousy,” Bokhari addressed to the Sindh government’s spokespersons.

“After the successful completion of the cleanliness operation in Punjab, Maryam Nawaz announced a reward of Rs10,000 for each sanitation worker. The local government arrangement in place is Punjab’s issue, why is the Sindh government so bothered by it?” she questioned. “In Sindh, the local government system appears to be nothing more than a one-man media show and that of the Karachi mayor,” she said and added besides Karachi’s mayor, one could not see any functioning local government body across the rest of Sindh.

“The mayor of Karachi seems more concerned about Punjab than his own city,” she remarked.
