LAHORE: Pakistan men’s volleyball team def­e­a­ted Kazakhstan to finish third in the CAVA Nations League which ended in Ferghana, Uzbekistan on Wednesday.

Defending champions Pakistan beat Kazakhstan 25-19, 23-25, 25-16, 25-22 in the third-place playoff to clinch bronze medal.

Iran won gold medal beating India in the final.

Pakistan’s Abdul Zaheer was named best player of the event.

Pakistan now feature in the AVC Men’s Nations Cup being held in Bahrain from June 17 to 24. It will be followed by several events, including the FIVB U-19 World Champ­ionship, Asi­an Youth Games and the Islamic Solidarity Games.
