LAHORE: The Rajanpur and Rahimyar Khan districts police claimed to have safely recovered two men, along with a child, allegedly kidnapped by Katcha area robbers through a honey trap, during separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs).

A spokesperson for the Punjab Police says Rajanpur police carried out an IBO against Katcha area criminals and safely recovered Barkat Ali and Sajid Hussain, who had been kidnapped a few days ago through a honey trap in the jurisdiction of Shahwali police station.

A kidnap case was registered at Shahwali police station.

He said the Shahwali police conducted a raid on the hideouts of the abductors in the Katcha area.

During the raid, a heavy exchange of gunfire took place between Rajanpur police and the criminals, who were forced to flee, leaving the two victims behind.

Similarly, the spokesperson said, the RY Khan police carried out a successful IBO in Katcha area, recovering a three-year-old kidnapped child, Zain, amid intense fire opened by the criminals.

During the exchange of fire, the kidnappers fled the scene, he said, leaving the child behind.

He said that later RY Khan DPO Irfan Ali Samo and ASP Inamullah handed over the recovered child to his family.
