GUJRAT: The Gujranwala police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a suspect who robbed the mother of cricketer Hassan Ali within 24 hours of the incident.

A spokesperson of the Gujranwala police said that a robber looted cash and valuables around Rs250,000 from the mother of cricketer Hassan Ali in the precincts of Ladhewala Warraich police station on Wednesday. The spokesperson said City Police Officer (CPO) Ayaz Saleem took notice of the incident and directed SSP Operations Rizwan Tariq to trace and arrest the suspect.

The Gujranwala police arrested the suspect identified as Ibrahim alias Ali Pathan, a resident of Mohni road, Lahore.

The suspect was caught from Qaddafi road where he was meeting a relative, the spokesperson said.
