GUJRAT: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a shopkeeper at village Malikpur in the Rehmania police area on Sunday.

Police claimed to have arrested the suspect. The seven-year-old daughter of one Adeel Saleem had gone to a shop in her neighbourhood to buy candies; however, the shopkeeper took her to his house and subjected her to rape.

In the meanwhile, the family of the child reached there, searching for her when the girl did not return home for some time. On seeing the family, the suspect fled from the scene.

Police were informed about the incident and they traced and arrested the suspect.

A case has been lodged on the report of the victim’s father.
