LAHORE: The Punjab Sports Department has announced the construction of a modern four-storey hotel at Nishtar Park Sports Complex, a move aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure and athlete accommodation.

The decision was disclosed by Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Secretary Muzaffar Khan during a Departmental Development Sub-Committee meeting held at Punjab Stadium.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Director General Khizar Afzaal.

Highlighting the significance of the new facility, Muzaffar Sial stated: “The construction of a modern hotel at Nishtar Park Sports Complex will prove to be a great facility for athletes. The promotion of sports across the province is our prime objective, and we are taking all possible measures to achieve this.”

He said the hotel is expected to provide top-tier accommodation with modern security measures for visiting athletes and officials, further supporting Punjab’s growing sports ecosystem.

“The Punjab Sports Department is completing multiple infrastructure projects to facilitate sports development across the province: A football ground and gymnasium will be constructed in Gao Shala in the provincial capital. Sports complexes will also be built in Bhalwal and Bhaira while a sports ground is also under development in Kotli Satyan, Murree”.
