ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Azerbaijan Farhadov has reiterated his country’s commitment to deepening economic and energy cooperation with Pakistan, emphasising the shared vision for energy connectivity and development.

Azerbaijan highly regards its relationship with Pakistan, he stressed. Together, we aim to deepen our historic brotherly relations through stronger economic cooperation, focusing especially on energy partnerships.

The ambassador had a meeting with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik here on Thursday at the Ministry of Petroleum. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the energy sector, and exploring new avenues for economic cooperation.

Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s steadfast support to Pakistan in the recent conflict with India, reaffirming the deep-rooted brotherly ties between the two nations. He underscored that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif greatly values Azerbaijan’s solidarity with Pakistan.

Azerbaijan has always stood behind Pakistan. “We are thankful to the brotherly countries for extending support in one of the most challenging occasions of recent times,” the minister said.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration in oil and gas exploration, energy trade, and investment opportunities.
