TOBA TEK SINGH: A former union council chairman and ex-PPP ticket holder from a provincial assembly seat of Jaranwala tehsil, Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Sahi, was gunned down over some property dispute on Wednesday.

Adnan Sahi told the police that as soon as his father departed for his brick kiln on a car, two unidentified men riding a motorcycle suddenly appeared and opened indiscriminate fire on him as a result he was seriously injured.

He was rushed to Jaranwala THQ hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. He was 69 and was known for his most modern and biggest brick kiln.

Sources said he had a property dispute and Jaranwala City police were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.

killer of soldier: A younger brother turned out to be the killer of army soldier Mobeen Shahzad Jat, as per the Chuttiana police investigations.

It was reported on May 18 that Mobeen Shahzad was shot dead by two robbers over resistance on Pirmahal-Shorkot Cantonment Road.

Police claimed that Mobeen was killed by his younger brother Ijtiba Raza.

Police said Mobeen and Ijtiba had gone to bring milk from their farm together on a motorcycle. Ijtiba had informed his family and police that Mobeen had stayed at the farm. He said later Mubeen alone was returning home on a bike when he confronted robbers and was killed over resistance.

On finding Ijtiba changing his statements, police arrested him and he confessed to killing his brother over a domestic issue.
