KARACHI: The House of Amir Adnan revealed its summer collection titled Nakhlistan (desert oasis) in a fashion showcase at Area 51 on Saturday evening.
The show was conceptualised by designer Parishae Adnan, the newly appointed CEO of the House of Amir Adnan.
As a foray into the desert paradise, the collection appeared to be an amalgamation of comfort, style, mystery and understated luxury and elegance. In most cases, the silhouettes displayed on the models had fluidity, and the textures spelt storytelling.
The Nakhlistan palette blended tradition and innovation brought to the showcase by earthy desert tones, pastels and deep blacks, with draping and structure proving the collection with strength and solemnity. Asymmetrical embroidery and silk lining inscribed with scripted motifs denoted a commitment to craftsmanship.
Among the guests seated in the front row included Ahad Raza Mir, Ahsan Khan, Khushhal Khan, Azfar Rehman, Ali Rehman Khan and Saqib Malik, and other luminaries.
The models’ hair, make-up and grooming was by Nabila’s Salon with talent partner Zinc providing the staggering and unprecedented number of 53 models required for the presentation, and fashion and casting director Tabesh Khoja curating the show. The choreography and direction was by visionary theatre actor and director Nida Butt.
According to an official communication, Nakhlistan marks a bold statement and a definitive shift for the House of Amir Adnan as it denotes the closure of one era and the awakening of another. One couldn’t agree more.
