GUJRAT: Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Iqbal Hussain Khan has said that visa regime between Pakistan and Bangladesh is being eased for the business community to foster economic growth in the region as Bangladesh considers Pakistan the gateway to central Asian countries.

He was speaking to the local business community at the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GTCCI) on Saturday.

He said that his country believed in stability and economic growth in the region. He said the visa regime between the two countries was being eased, particularly for businessmen. “Both the countries have started granting visas to trade delegations,” he added.

GTCCI President Bau Muneer, former president Ali Ansar Ghuman, Ahmed Hassan Mattu, Secretary Usman Muzaffar and others also spoke on the occasion.

The envoy said that online visa system would be launched in December this year to further facilitate visa applicants.
