RAWALPINDI: Punjab Local Government Secretary Mian Shakeel Ahmed on Thursday directed the departments concernedto accelerate the development work in Murree, ensuring transparency and maintaining quality standards and stresses need for continuous monitoring of all projects.

He said this during his visit to Murree to review the progress of ongoing development projects and chaired a high-level meeting with the district officials.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Shirazi briefed the secretary on the status of various schemes, including road rehabilitation, sanitation improvements, and enhancement of civic and tourist facilities. Officials informed the secretary about project timelines, fund utilisation, and implementation challenges.

The meeting was attended by additional deputy commissioner (revenue), additional deputy commissioner (general), assistant commissioner Murree, assistant commissioner Kotli Sattian, chief officer Municipal Corporation Murree, and other senior officers of the administration.

Mr Ahmed visited several project sites, including Khani Tak and Kashmir Point, where he inspected the ongoing work and directed that all projects be completed within the stipulated time. He stressed that timely completion was necessary to provide relief to local residents and improve facilities for tourists.
