HYDERABAD: A number of auto-rickshaws, pushcarts, motorcycles and stocks of different merchandise were destroyed when a major fire broke out in a warehouse and engulfed adjacent structures in the Pinyari area on Tuesday evening.

It started from a godown (warehouse) of different merchandise in Liaquat Colony and engulfed the adjacent open spaces, where many auto-rickshaws, loading vehicles, some motorbikes and several pushcarts were parked.

Gas cylinders of the vehicles exploded when the flames swept through them.

Among the badly affected structures were a bangle workshop and a plastic bottles manufacturing unit.

Rescue personnel rushed to the spot and put out the blaze.
