SWAT: The Swat police on Wednesday launched a crackdown on underage drivers and motorcyclists involved in dangerous one-wheeling stunts, following a surge in fatal accidents linked to the illegal activity.

The action comes in response to a series of viral videos on social media, showing teenage boys performing perilous stunts on motorcycles in various parts of the valley.

Taking immediate notice of the matter, district police officer Nasser Mehmood ordered DSP city Shahy Bakht to initiate targeted operations to apprehend those involved.

The police teams carried out swift operations and arrested several individuals, including the ringleader of a one-wheeling group, identified as Shahabullah alias Moran, a resident of Baraama area.

Multiple motorcycles used in the stunts were also seized. Speaking to media, SHO Mingora Mujeeb Alam, said:

“These dangerous stunts have claimed the lives of numerous young people in the valley. We will not tolerate such reckless behaviour and strict legal action will be taken against all those involved.”

DPO Mehmood also issued a public message to parents, urging them to monitor their children’s activities closely and to dissuade them from engaging in such life-threatening acts.

“One-wheeling is not just illegal — it is deadly. Many families have lost their sons or seen them disabled for life due to these irresponsible stunts,” he said.

“Parents must play their part in guiding their children and ensuring they stay away from such harmful activities,” he said.

The campaign against one-wheeling is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with increased patrolling and surveillance on key roads and recreational spots across Swat.
