CHINIOT: District and Sessions Judge Shahida Saeed has handed down capital punishment to man, along with fine, for killing his father-in-law at Chak 209-JB in 2024.

According to the FIR lodged with Langrana police station, Tasawar Abbas, a resident of Chak No 209 JB was married to Bushra Bibi, daughter of Allah Ditta, some 15 years ago.

However, Tasawar indulged in criminal activities and he kicked his wife out of his house after torture on Aug 2, 2024. Bushra started living with her parents.

On Aug 27, 2024, Bushra, her father Allah Ditta and brother Javed Iqbal were sitting in their house when Tasawar, armed with a pistol, came there and opened fire. He fled the scene immediately.

As a result, Allah Ditta was critically injured and rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds after a few days.

Langrana police registered the FIR on the complaint of Javed Iqbal and arrested Tasawar.

The police also recovered the weapon used in the murder.

The judge, after completion of the trial proceedings, found Tasawar guilty and handed down the death sentence to him, with fine.

District Police Officer Abdullah Ahmad appreciated the investigation and prosecution teams for better quality of investigation and timely prosecution, resulting in conviction of the killer.
