BAJAUR: The long-awaited asphalt work on four-kilometre Narang-Gargoo Arang Road commenced here on Friday.

The asphalt work on the project, which is being executed from the development funds of PTI MPA Eng Ajmal Khan and his younger brother and former MNA Gul Dad Khan, was launched during a ceremony, according to a statement.

The work on the road was inaugurated in June 2021, and was slated to be completed by the end of that year.

However, the project couldn’t be completed till date owing to shortage of funds.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajmal Khan and Gul Dad apologised to the people over the prolonged delay in completion of the scheme.

The road would ensure better communication facilities to thousands of people of the hilly areas.

The residents staged several demonstrations against the delay in road’s completion. They have welcomed the resumption of work on the project.
