A man who climbed the clock tower at the Palace of Westminster in central London carrying the Palestinian flag has come down after 16 hours, Al Jazeera quotes Sky News as saying.

The barefoot man, who shouted “Free Palestine” and waved the Palestinian flag from Big Ben’s Elizabeth Tower, was arrested once he reached the ground, Sky News reported.

Emergency services closed Westminster Bridge yesterday morning in response to the incident, and parliamentary tours were also cancelled.
