Aunty Park

THE famous park in Clifton was named Aunty Park because senior aunties and uncles used to have their daily walk there. The park underwent renovation by a German lady.

Unfortunately, she left during Covid, and now the entire park has been converted into fields of cricket and football. On a recent morning walk, I saw about 10 teams playing cricket. I was hit twice by the ball.

Are we waiting for a major accident to happen when a senior citizens may fall and sustain head or bone injuries?

Furthermore, stray dogs jump in from the wide grill spaces, making the park even more unsafe for the visitors. The grills should be narrowed so that the stray animals cannot enter the park.

Recently, five parks have been set up in the area. Why can one of them not be transformed into a sporting arena?
