KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday sent suspect Sahir Hassan, an actor, to prison on judicial custody in a drug case.

The investigating officer (IO) produced the suspect before the judicial magistrate (South) and requested the court to extend the suspect’s physical remand for an additional five days to complete the interrogation, which was still ongoing.

However, the defence counsel opposed the IO’s plea.

After hearing both sides, the court remanded the suspect in judicial custody and directed the IO to submit the investigation report within the stipulated period.

Regarding the case’s progress, the IO told the media that technical efforts were underway to identify the supplier of the drugs.
