KARACHI: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a young actor and recovered narcotics in the Defence area.

“The actor has been arrested in connection with a drive against drugs after the Mustafa Amir’s murder case in DHA,” CIA DIG Muqaddus Haider said, adding that the police had launched a crackdown against such those involved in supplying drugs to parties and students.

He identified the suspect as Sahir Hasan and claimed that 500 grams of weed was recovered from his home.

He said the held suspect imported narcotics from the US through different channels. He was also involved in supplying drugs to parties, he added.

Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London has alleged that its two activists were taken away by law enforcement agencies after raids on their houses.

It identified the activists as Anwar Khan Tareen, a senior member of the party, and Ziauddin Baqai, son of senior leader Aftab Baqai.

However, law enforcers were reluctant to share any information about the “missing” activists.
