DADU: Hyderabad DIG Tariq Razzaq Daharejo has suspended SHO of the Nooriabad police station Inspector Nadeem Solangi following alleged pilferage in a consignment of contraband items seized during recently.

The action against the SHO was taken after the consignment originally valued at Rs30 million was dispatched to Hyderabad from Karachi and the police officer had put the figure at Rs7 million in the relevant FIR. He was accused of under-reporting the recovery in the case.

An internal investigation into the matter was ordered after which the SHO was demoted to the post of ASI. He was also transferred to the Hyderabad region police office.

The DIG’s order explained that the incorrect valuation of the seized property in the case No. 11/2025 registered at the Nooriabad police station led to the disciplinary action.

Two suspects, Hazoor Bux Brohi and Najeeb Brohi were arrested and the truck carrying the contraband was impounded. Two other suspects, Haji Mohammad Azam Brohi and Khuda Dad Brohi, had managed to escape, according to the FIR.
