SWABI: A man has allegedly assaulted his daughter, a seventh grade student at a public sector school, and the police arrested the accused after lodging an FIR against him here on Sunday.

Officials at the Zaida police station told Dawn that the incident took place in Marghuz village. They said the victim lodged a complaint, alleging that her father assaulted her inside their house on Saturday.

The girl said that her mother worked in a house and that she was alone in the house when her father came there and asked her to serve him water. “When I took water to my father, he assaulted me.”

The complainant also said that her father threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

She alleged that her had also assaulted her two months ago, but she kept quiet out of shame.

The police have registered the case against her father.

Asif Ali, Assistant Sub-Inspector at Zaida police, said that the police had arrested the man.

He said that the medical report of the victim was awaited.
