LAHORE: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has decided to open it’s 27 additional centres of Lahore region on Saturdays to facilitate the public.

“Considering the growing population and increasing registration needs, and following the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Nadra chairman has approved an expansion plan under the supervision of the Nadra director general Lahore region,” a spokesperson for the authority said in a statement here on Friday.

“Under the “No Queues, No Waiting” vision, 27 additional Nadra centers across the Lahore region will now remain open on Saturdays. Fom Feb 15 onwards, the Nadra centres in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Narowal, Kasur, and Okara will operate on Saturdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm offering identity card issuance and renewal services for public convenience,” he said.

He said apart from the three Nadra mega centres in the Lahore region, 12 centres at the tehsil level were already providing registration services six days a week.

Additionally, the spokesperson said the Nadra Mega Centres on Egerton Road, Lahore, and Gujranwala continued to serve citizens seven days a week ensuring uninterrupted access to national registration services.
