PESHAWAR: A leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf from Nowshera district, Mian Usman Shah, was gunned down by unidentified assailants near Pabbi railway station on GT Road on Wednesday.

An official at the police station concerned said that the deceased, who was president of PTI Dag Besud area, was travelling in his vehicle along with a friend, Hamid Khan, when unidentified motorcyclists ambushed them.

Mian Usman died on the spot, whereas Hamid Khan received serious injuries, and has now been undergoing treatment at a local hospital. An FIR of the occurrence was registered at the Pabbi police station, wherein Mian Miskeen Shah, a brother of the deceased, is the complainant.

The complainant has charged some of their rivals for the commission of the offence, stating that they had previous blood feud with the suspects.

He has charged three brothers – Khan Baz, Fayyaz and Zarbaz – for the attack. He stated that last month a member of their rival family, Khan Baz, was killed near Jalozai area for which the suspects had been suspecting the involvement of the deceased Mian Usman.
