KOHAT: Under-22 trial for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Games 2025 at division and district levels were inaugurated by former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader MNA Shahryar Afridi at a colourful ceremony at Kohat Sports Complex on Tuesday.

MPA Daud Shah Afridi, Kohat Commissioner Syed Motasim Billah Shah, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Akram Chotrali and Regional Sports Officer Sajjad Afridi also attended the ceremony besides a large number of sports enthusiasts and players.

Shahryar Khan Afridi and Daud Shah Afridi were special guests of the inaugural ceremony. Players from Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Orakzai, and Darra Adamkhel tehsil of Kohat participated in the trials.

The special guests reviewed preparations for various sports competitions. Expressing the commitment of provincial government to improve sports facilities, Shahryar Afridi said that sports would not only help youth in leading a healthy life but would also promote social harmony.

He urged youth to actively participate in sports activities along their studies because a healthy and strong body was of utmost importance for pursuit of education.

Mr Afridi said that various sports competitions would be organised at local level so that young players got a full opportunity to improve their skills. He said that participation in sports activities would improve physical and mental health of youth.

Earlier, a child cut a ribbon to formally inaugurate the trials.
