KHYBER: A policeman and two other persons were killed in a firing incident in Bara on Monday.

The police said the incident took place at a motor bargain centre in Qambarabad locality close to the Bara Bazaar, when unidentified assailants opened fire on a group of five persons, including an official of the police’s Special Branch.

They said that Abdul Wali Khan, the Special Branch sleuth, along with two other persons, Mohammad Afzal and Qismat Khan, were killed on the spot, while two other people, Abid and Mohammad Hussain, sustained injuries.

A police party immediately reached the spot and collected evidence.

The injured were taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar.

The police said that reason behind the firing could not be immediately known as they launched an investigation after registering a case against unidentified assailants, who managed to flee the area after the incident.
