DERA MURAD JAMALI: Three people were injured in an explosion that occurred in the Dera Murad Jamali area of Nasirabad district on Friday.

According to police offici­als, unknown miscreants pla­nted an improvised explosive device (IED) on Mir Hassan Road linking the Mangoli area. The explosion took place when a car was passing through the road. The device was remotely detonated.

“The car was severely damaged in the powerful blast, which rocked the surrounding area. Three people travelling in the car were seriously injured,” a senior police officer told Dawn.

He said a heavy contingent of police reached the area after the blast and shifted the injured to the district hospital in Dera Murad Jamali.

The condition of the injured remains critical, as they sustained multiple injuries.

They have been identified as identified as Pir Bakhsh, Mehrab Khan and Abdul Rasheed, all from Nasirabad.

According to the officials, the three men were on their way to Dera Murad Jamali at the time of the incident.

Police have launched an investigation into the blast.
