KARACHI: India’s attempt to convert the “through traffic” into “cross traffic” with the object of preventing the collection of any fares and freight in cash by the East Pakistan Railway was exposed by a Government of Pakistan Press note issued on Saturday [Jan 21]. The Press note explained the circumstances created by … India which led with effect from the midnight of Jan 19 and 20 to the stoppage of the system of through booking of passengers and luggage between the East Pakistan Railway and Indian Railways, and to the rebooking of passengers and luggage from the border stations.
