SWAT: The upper region of Swat district has been transformed into a breathtaking winter paradise as a fresh wave of snowfall on Sunday blanketed the area. This natural wonder has drawn tourists from across the country, eager to experience the charm of snow-covered valleys and mountains.

Popular tourist destinations such as Kalam, Malam Jabba, Bahrian, Mankiyal and Gabin Jabba are buzzing with activity as visitors revel in the picturesque landscapes and winter festivities.

The snowfall has created a magical atmosphere, attracting families, friends, and adventure seekers from cities, including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, and beyond. For many, it is their first time witnessing live snowfall, and the experience has left them awestruck.

Malam Jabba, known for its ski resort, has become a hub for adventure enthusiasts. Tourists are seen enjoying skiing, snowboarding, and chairlift rides while taking in panoramic views of the snow-clad peaks.

In Kalam, visitors are mesmerised by the serene beauty of the snow-covered Ushu Forest and Mahodand Lake, while Gabin Jabba, often referred to as the Switzerland of Pakistan, offers a tranquil escape with its snow-blanketed meadows and hills.

Ahmed Raza, a tourist from Islamabad, described his first encounter with snowfall as magical. “This is my first time seeing snow, and it’s absolutely mesmerising. The mountains and valleys are breathtaking, and Swat feels like a fairytale land in winter. I can’t imagine a better place to experience this,” he said with excitement.

Farah Khan, who travelled from Lahore with her family, praised the local hospitality and scenery. “The people here are so welcoming, and the snow-covered landscapes are simply stunning. Malam Jabba was a highlight for us, especially the skiing and the chairlift ride. It’s been a perfect winter vacation,” she shared.

Ali Nawaz, a university student from Faisalabad, was captivated by Gabin Jabba’s beauty. “The untouched snow, the peaceful environment, and the breathtaking views make this place a dream destination. We’ve taken countless pictures, and this trip has been unforgettable,” he said.

The influx of tourists has provided a much-needed boost to the local economy, with hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants bustling with activity. Traditional dishes, warm beverages, and unique winter activities are being offered to enhance the visitor experience. Local vendors are also thriving, selling handmade crafts and souvenirs.

Authorities have ensured smooth access to the tourist spots by clearing roads and providing necessary support to visitors. With more snowfall expected, Swat is set to welcome an even larger number of tourists, solidifying its reputation as a premier winter destination in Pakistan.

For now, the snow-clad valleys, meadows, and peaks of Kalam, Malam Jabba and Gabin Jabba continue to enchant visitors, offering them a magical escape and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
