LOWER DIR: The participants of meeting here on Thursday said that provincial government and its relevant departments would be contacted to release funds for those projects that lacked funding.

The meeting was held with Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Arif Khan in the chair. The additional deputy commissioner, Gohar Ali, the assistant director of local government, executive engineer building, executive engineer highways, executive engineer of public health engineering department, tehsil municipal officers and representatives of Pesco briefed the meeting about the ongoing development schemes under Annual Development Programme.

The deputy commissioner said that a report of development projects lacking funds would be sent to provincial government. He directed officials to share their progress reports regarding work on ongoing development projects with the additional deputy commissioner.

He said that department should not take the responsibility of projects until the contractor completed it as per PC-1.

ELECTIONS: Sehat Jan was elected unopposed as president and Rahatullah as general secretary of the district chapter of All Pakistan Clerks Association (Apca) here the other day.

According to Apca election commissioner Mohammad Salim, the association issued its schedule for polls but only one group submitted nomination papers. Sehat Jan was elected as president, Malik Shad Mohammad as senior vice president, Rahatullah as general secretary, Mukhtiar Khan as additional general secretary, Mohammad Halim Khan as finance secretary, Arshad Iqbal as coordination secretary, Rahman Saeed as press secretary and Inamullah as office secretary of Apca for the next term in the district.

VISIT: The district health officer, Dr Mohammad Nisar Tarkalani, paid a surprise visit to tehsil headquarters hospital in Talash the other day. Medical Superintendent Dr Arshad Ali briefed him regarding various units of the hospital.

The DHO inspected the emergency unit, general OPD, X-ray section, dental block and other departments. He said that all emergency patients should be provided with all facilities including free medicines and no negligence would be tolerated in that regard.

He said that biometric system was installed in 72 hospitals across the district and ghost employees would no longer be spared.
