TOBA TEK SINGH: In an major operation launched against illegal housing schemes, the Faisalabad Development Authority demolished and sealed offices and illegal structures of 24 colonies on Satiana Road and its surroundings on Saturday.

According to FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry told media office equipment had also been seized. He said cases were registered against two persons for offering resistance during the operation.

The action was initiated on the order of Commissioner Silwat Saeed who desired a result-oriented crackdown. She also asked the DC to provide all legal, administrative and logistical support for a complete elimination of this issue.

Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin and Estate Officer Mian Shahzad Qamar led the operation.

HOSPITAL: Punjab Labour Welfare department will set up a hospital for labourers. PML-N MPA Amjad Ali Javed told reporters on Saturday that on his request the Punjab Board of Revenue had allowed transfer of over 15 kanal state land situated adjacent to the municipal committee’s slaughter house in favour of Punjab Secretary for Labour and Human Resources department.

MURDER: The blind murder of a transgender has been traced.

Faisalabad City police spokesperson said the body of Anjili was found at a deserted place outside her village 228-RB located on Makkuana bypass in Faisalabad on Wednesday.

He said a team headed by SP Iqbal Town traced and arrested accused Akhtar Hussain who confessed to killing Anjili over a cell phone dispute.
