KARACHI: The metropolis experienced the coldest night of the current month on Saturday when the city’s minimum temperature dropped to 9.2 degrees Celsius, the Met department said.

The intensity of the ongoing cold wave can be gauged from the fact that the minimum temperature recorded in the area of Jinnah Terminal was to 8.5°C.

The Met Office said that the minimum temperature is likely to range between 9-12°C over the next two days in the city.

The maximum temperature recorded was 25.3°C and humidity levels fell to 13 per cent in the evening.

“The cold wave, ‘very cold wave’ in Tharparkar and Umerkot districts, continues to prevail over the province and night temperatures are expected to remain 2-4°C below normal in upper and central Sindh.

“While night temperatures below 2-3°C normal in lower Sindh and 3-5°C below normal in Tharparkar and Umerkot districts,” says a Met department advisory.
