HARIPUR: A man and his son were found dead in their room here, the police said on Sunday.

TIP police station officials said that area people found two persons dead in their bedroom. On the information of the people, the police entered the house in New Afzal Abad Mohallah and found two persons dead. The bodies were shifted to the trauma centre where the deceased were identified as Maroof Shah, 60, and his son, Kamran Shah, 24.

The police said that it recovered the leftover quantity of liquor from the room, which both the man and his son had purportedly consumed.

They said the liquor was not fully distilled, which might have caused the death of the two.

The autopsy of the bodies was carried out at the trauma centre and samples were sent to the forensic lab for chemical analysis to determine the cause of their death.

Meanwhile, two persons were killed and three others injured when a motorcycle collided with a van on the GT Road near Baldhair area.

The cause of the accident was reckless driving by motorcyclists, the police said.

The Sera-i-Saleh police quoted witnesses as saying that four friends riding a motorcycle were coming from Havelian area to the Haripur city. They said that the collision resulted in injuries to the four friends and the van driver.

The injured were removed to hospital, where two motorcyclists, identified as Zakir Ali and Anwar Ali, succumbed to head injuries, while their two relatives, Ismail and Khiyal Mohammad, and van driver, Faisal Mehmood, were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, in critical condition.
