LAHORE: Four alleged robbers were killed while their female accomplice and two policemen were injured in an encounter in Green Town on Saturday.

A police team led by Green Town SHO Khurrum Shehzad raided a house after receiving information about the presence of a gang involved in looting citizens wearing police uniform.

When police cordoned of the area and knocked at the door, the robbers opened fire, leaving the SHO and a constable injured.

A heavy police contingent approached the scene and traded fire with robbers for five hours. The four alleged robbers identified as Rizwan Akbar, Ali Raza, Zain and Ali were found dead and a woman injured. Three of their accomplices fled the scene.

Police shifted the bodies to the morgue and started the investigation.

ARRESTED: Baghbanpura police arrested a man for killing his six years old son over unknown reasons.

Police said Mujtaba, a car mechanic, lodged a report that his six years old son Abdul Rehman, who was studying in a seminary, was missing. Police registered the case on Nov 4 and started investigation.

On suspicion, police investigators took Mujtaba into custody who confessed to killing his son.

Police recovered the body and shifted it to morgue for autopsy.
