Former US president Donald Trump has won the swing state of North Carolina, the Associated Press reports.

North Carolina has 16 electoral votes.

The result is the first reported from among the seven swing states that will likely decide the presidential winner.

According to NYT, Republicans have won here in every presidential election since 2012, but it has been very competitive. Trump won in 2020 by 1.3 percentage points, his smallest margin of any state.
