The police said the incident took place around 10:27pm when the SI along with his wife reached home in a car in Shahzad Town.

His wife had disembarked from the car and walked few yards when a car stopped nearby the SI car and all of a sudden firing was started from inside the car, targeting the SI sitting on the driving seat of his car, the police said.
