LAHORE: A young woman was allegedly tortured and strangled by her in-laws in Baghbanpura the other day.

Identified as Huma (22), daughter of Mushtaq, the deceased was married to Asad Ali in 2022.

Her father alleged that Huma was murdered by her husband Asad, father-in-law Jafar, mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

He alleged that they used to torture her over petty domestic issues. A couple of days back, his son Ashfaq got a mobile phone call from his daughter’s father-in-law who revealed about the sudden death of Huma.

When they rushed to the house of his daughter’s in-laws, they found torture marks on her neck and other parts of the body.

“We immediately alerted the police who reached the site and shifted the body to the city morgue for a post-mortem,” Mushtaq said.

Police lodged a murder case on the complaint of Mushtaq and launched an investigation.

In yet another incident, in the Nishtar Colony area, a factory employee, Tauqeer, was found dead at his house under mysterious circumstances.

Police shifted his body to the morgue for post-mortem to find out the cause of his death.
