Under Activision, Transformers fans were treated to some of the best games ever based on the brand. Titles like Transformers: War for Cybertron, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Transformers: Devastation are highly-regarded, but remain sadly unavailable on current platforms.

According to a rumour from Transformers fan site TFW2005, Xbox Game Studios is working on two different games based on the franchise, targeting a release this year.

If that truly is the case, the most likely scenario is some kind of remaster for the two Cybertron games from 2010 and 2012, previously unavailable on modern platforms. It’s unclear if the remasters will be Xbox exclusives or available on other platforms like PlayStation, Steam and Switch.

Final Fantasy XIV may soon come to a Nintendo platform. At Gamescom, director Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida hinted at the possibility, though he suggested it might be for the rumoured “Switch 2” rather than the current Switch.

Yoshida confirmed that discussions and progress are being made toward this goal, as part of Square Enix’s strategy to release the game on more platforms. While details about the Switch 2 are still scarce, rumours suggest it could be revealed within the next few months, with a release in 2025.
