The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is donating $5 million to support an emergency vaccination campaign against polio in the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera reports according to the official WAM news agency.
“Many thanks to the UAE and HH Sheikh Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed [Al Nahyan] for contributing $5 million to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative to vaccinate 640,000 children against polio in Gaza,” World Health Organisation (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a post on X.
