LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Sunday announced the postponement of the party’s yet another scheduled public meeting in Lahore for Tuesday (Aug 27) blaming the civil administration for not permittingLahore High Court directions.

However, some party leaders seeking anonymity said there were strong differences among party leaders and there was neither any preparation nor mood to go ahead with the Lahore public meeting – that too after the postponement of the Islamabad public meeting.

PTI Punjab information secretary Shaukat Basra has stated the party has decided to postpone Tuesday’s Lahore event as the civil administration did not permit the public meeting.

PTI Punjab general secretary Hammad Azhar conspicuously remained silent over the postponement of the Lahore public meeting.

Mr Basra said the PTI would file a contempt of court application against the civil administration.

Announcing Tuesday’s Lahore meeting postponement, Mr Basra said, “The PTI would request the court to allow the party to hold a public meeting in Lahore after Islamabad’s Sept 8 public meeting”.

The party will announce the new schedule for the Lahore meeting after “Islamabad’s jalsa on Sept 8”, Mr Basra added.

PTI Central Punjab senior vice-president Akmal Khan Bari said that despite court orders, the Lahore civil administration did not communicate the location.

He stated that a copy of the court order was submitted to the DC Lahore.
