SUKKUR, March 26: Activists of the Awami Tehrik held a demonstration and observed a token hunger strike in front of the Shah Latif Library in Kandhkot on Sunday in protest against bulldozing of old villages of Sindhis in the Juma Goth area of Karachi.

They were led by district party president Tariq Mehmood Khoso and Haibat Dahani.

Speaking on the occasion, they said demolition of the villages was a conspiracy to convert Sindhis into a minority in the province.

They alleged that the Sindh government had initiated the move at the behest of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement to settle people who would enter Sindh through the Khokhrapar route.

They called for payment of compensation to affected people and their immediate rehabilitation.
