SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders continued their mass contact campaign for holding a public meeting here next week, said party leaders here.

The Swabi rally was announced by PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan after the PTI was not allowed to hold public gathering either in Punjab province or Islamabad.

The overall efforts of the party leaders have focused on arranging a record public gathering, aiming at putting more pressure on federal government, and exposing it further.

Former speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser and MNA Shahram Khan Tarakai visited Shahmansoor Town and inspected the cricket ground area where the public meeting was likely to take place.

MPA Rangaiz Khan said that Shahmansoor Town was one of the sites for holding the rally and the final decision about the venue was expected to be made by core committee in its meeting.

“We have planned to organise a record gathering and we enjoy massive support of the people,” said Asad Qaiser who belonged to district Swabi.

KP Irrigation Minister Aqibullah Khan said that preparations for the gathering were in full swing, and party activists were working round the clock to ensure all arrangements relating to major party gathering.

Adviser to Chief Minister on Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Abdul Karim said that they had constituted various committees with different tasks to make the massive gathering a complete success.

BODY RECOVERED: The Swabi police recovered an unidentified dead body in the jurisdiction of Topi city police station.

When contacted, officials of Topi police station said that they were informed by locals about the body, which was sent to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for autopsy. Identity of the body couldn’t be confirmed till the filing of this report.
